Education

Wild Minds have everything you need to engage you children in outdoor education, encourage them to care for nature and to develop a thirst for adventure, secure in who they are what they have to offer the world.

Wild Minds offers a variety of options for educational settings, from Educational Visits on site at Moira Furnace to tailor-made wild workshops to support your curriculum delivery, Forest Schools, Behaviour Support, CPD and training for staff, support with grounds and awards and after school clubs.

We also offer a wide range of activities aimed at supporting Scouts and Brownies to achieve those valuable badges.

Educational Visits are designed to support the National Curriculum as well as develop the skills and experience that children need as they grow. Having access to the full site at Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park, your pupils will be able to explore and learn in a varied environment that changes throughout the year. Our activities are grouped into curriculum phases, but all can be tailored to suit the needs and abilities of all children. Each of the exciting and hands on practitioner-led sessions will take the children through a series of activities that will help them strengthen the skills and knowledge they already possess and will allow them to develop new skills and learn about nature in a way they haven’t before, developing confidence, self-esteem and positive mental health and wellbeing.

The amazing site at Moira Furnace has so much to offer for a full day experience for your pupils. There is also a dry space available, in the Furnace itself, for if the weather turns wet.
