Family Behaviour Support

Like our school based programme, Family Behaviour Support provides parents and carers with the skills, language and strategies they can use to manage situations at home.

We can work with families in a local park or woodland; or they can come to us at Moira Furnace and make lasting memories together.

Referrals in to our Behaviour Support services are made the same way for everyone. Please complete our referral form here and we will be in touch.

Each programme will be tailored to suit the needs of the whole family and we involve everyone to help build shared experiences and so that Parents or Carers can see out techniques in action and build their own skills.

About Behaviour Support

With over 19 years experience of working with young people providing social, emotional and mental health support as well as being a qualified Thrive Practitioner and ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant), Wild Minds really can support you to get fun and enjoyable family time back on track.

Utilising Thrive we can assess your child, the results of these assessments define the programme of activities required to achieve the desired outcomes for your family. Our sessions are designed to include the whole family as this enables parents and carers to see our techniques in action and removes the difficult “so what did you do today?” question.

Example family sessions:

  • Sensory play
  • How to cope with different emotions through art
  • Learning to self-regulate through game play
  • Nature Connection Together

Is it just BIG behaviours?

No. Our techniques and strategies can help support those children who are displaying small behaviours too. Such as being withdrawn, not wanting to interact or selective mutism (to name but a few). We want all children to be resilient, to understand and communicate their emotions effectively and to achieve their aspirations. This can be achieved by families learning and connecting in nature together.

So, if you think that we can help you, please use our referral form to get in touch and we do everything we can to help you.

Parent Workshops

As well as working with families directly, we can also deliver workshops to parent groups, support networks or charities. These workshops can run to up to 3 hours and provide a wide range of information, insight, techniques and opportunity to practice.

Don’t have 3 hours? That’s ok. We can reduce the workshops to hit the main points and still leave you feeling empowered and more understanding of the reasons behind the behaviours you are witnessing.

Please contact us if you would like to book a workshop.
