Wild Minds Nature Connection CIC works hard to ensure that children get the best out of the education system, no matter what barriers they face. As experienced SEMH support providers, we can tailor support packages to the needs of the young people referred to us. Our SEMH support work is overseen by Jodi who is a licensed Thrive Practitioner with over a decade of experience working with children from all backgrounds. Outdoor sessions and Forest School skills are overseen by Jodi & Becki who are both Level 3 Forest School Leaders.
Our Alternative Provision uses a combination of nature-based practice and science backed approaches, we can help young people understand their emotions, communicate their needs effectively and control their behaviour. We are also able to provide young people with an insight into green careers and a future working in nature where their unique talents and approaches will flourish.
With over 20 years’ experience in outdoor learning and over a decade working to support behavioural challenges in schools, Wild Minds have the tools to support children of all ages and at all stages of their educational journey.

Participants will spend time outdoors, in nature, learning how it can support their mental and physical health along with learning other skills such as conservation, environmental sustainability, bushcraft skills and nature connection.
Our off-site Alternative Provision will be provided at Hicks Lodge, Moira, but can also be provided on school sites across Derbyshire, Derby City, Leicester and Staffordshire.
As part of our alternative provision offer, we work to teach participants to become respectful and responsible members of the community. Through a combination of self-lead activities, team building and communication, we empower these young people, improve their self-esteem and confidence and allow them to grow as individuals.
This is a paid for service and costs can be provided on request.
