Job Opportunity: Woodland Elders Session Facilitator

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and creative Woodland Elders Facilitator to deliver our Woodland Elders sessions — nature-inspired activities, sensory engagement, and chair-based movement designed to support the wellbeing of older adults living in care homes.

This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference, bringing the joy of nature, creativity, and gentle movement into care settings across the National Forest.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engaging, accessible, and enjoyable movement or sensory sessions
  • Create safe, inclusive environments that encourage participation
  • Work alongside care-home staff and follow safeguarding procedures

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience working with older adults, including those with dementia, additional needs, or disabilities
  • Background in activity delivery, wellbeing programmes, or community engagement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt activities for diverse needs and abilities
  • Understanding of safeguarding, dignity in care, and confidentiality

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of nature-based or creative wellbeing activities
  • First Aid knowledge (though care staff will handle incidents)
  • Experience in care-home, health & social care, or child care settings

Personal Qualities:

  • Empathetic, patient, and respectful
  • Reliable, well-organised, and comfortable working independently
  • Able to travel between sites across the National Forest
