
Job Opportunity: Woodland Elders Session Facilitator
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and creative Woodland Elders Facilitator to deliver our Woodland Elders sessions — nature-inspired activities, sensory engagement, and chair-based movement designed to support the wellbeing of older adults living in care homes.
This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference, bringing the joy of nature, creativity, and gentle movement into care settings across the National Forest.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver engaging, accessible, and enjoyable movement or sensory sessions
- Create safe, inclusive environments that encourage participation
- Work alongside care-home staff and follow safeguarding procedures
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working with older adults, including those with dementia, additional needs, or disabilities
- Background in activity delivery, wellbeing programmes, or community engagement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt activities for diverse needs and abilities
- Understanding of safeguarding, dignity in care, and confidentiality
Desirable:
- Knowledge of nature-based or creative wellbeing activities
- First Aid knowledge (though care staff will handle incidents)
- Experience in care-home, health & social care, or child care settings
Personal Qualities:
- Empathetic, patient, and respectful
- Reliable, well-organised, and comfortable working independently
- Able to travel between sites across the National Forest
