Wild Minds – Nature Connection Through Qigong Blog Series (Week 6)

🌿 WEEK 6: The Five Elements and Organ–Emotion Relationships

Welcome to Week 6 of our Qigong journey with Wild Minds Nature Connection CIC. This week, we explore the Five Elements—a beautiful framework from Traditional Chinese Medicine that links nature, organs, and emotions.

The Five Elements are:

  • Wood – Liver & Gallbladder – Anger – Spring – Green
  • Fire – Heart & Small Intestine – Joy – Summer – Red
  • Earth – Spleen & Stomach – Worry – Late Summer – Yellow
  • Metal – Lungs & Large Intestine – Grief – Autumn – White
  • Water – Kidneys & Bladder – Fear – Winter – Blue/Black

These elements live both in nature and in us. When they’re in balance, we feel emotionally and physically well. When they’re out of balance, we may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected.

At Wild Minds, we don’t try to control emotions—we welcome them. We move gently, breathe deeply, and let nature help us release and restore.

This week, try:

  • Healing Sounds Qigong: use sound to release emotional tension from organs.
  • Seasonal awareness: notice how your energy shifts with the time of year.
  • Elemental movement: embody the qualities of each element—flowing like water, expanding like fire, rooting like earth.

🌳 Nature Connection Tip:
Choose a natural element to sit with—tree (Wood), sun (Fire), soil (Earth), breeze (Metal), stream (Water). Breathe with it. Let it teach you something about yourself.

🌀 Reflection Prompt:
Which element feels most present in your life right now? What emotion is asking to be heard?
